The Economy Shop requests gently used and new items which we can sell to raise $$ for local charities.

Donations should be brought to: 103 S. Grove Avenue, Oak Park, IL, we will greet you inside the open donation door located on the South Boulevard side of our building.

PLEASE NOTE: Do not leave donations outside! This is considered illegal dumping punishable by a fine and often costs our charities rather than helping them. Because items get damaged by weather or ransacked by passersby, by the time we get to them they are usually only fit for the garbage.

WE ACCEPT: Just about anything in almost perfect or near mint condition that is clean and needs no repair. Clothing, shoes, accessories, clean household items, linens, decorative items, antiques, sewing and craft supplies, luggage, lamps, small pieces of furniture (such as bookcases, chairs, small tables, small desks, chest of drawers, magazine racks, children's chairs and tables), lawn furniture and lawn equipment (in good working order), books, records, tapes, and CDs.

Larger furniture items (anything not fitting in the car) requires our inspection before we accept and haul the item. Please call 708.383.2449 regarding possible donation of larger furniture items.

WE DO NOT ACCEPT: Mattresses, used bed pillows, food, alcohol, cosmetics, used hair brushes, used casts, large home appliances, exercise equipment, humidifiers, baby equipment (strollers, high chairs, walkers, bouncers, cribs, car seats, infant swings, etc.), automotive equipment, tires, and computer equipment more than two years old.

TAX RECEIPT: We provide a tax receipt for your records. There is a place on the receipt for you to record the fair market value of your donation. We do not provide valuation of items. If you donate an exceptionally valuable item, we will, upon your request, write a letter for you to keep with your tax records.

We are now accepting toys and children's clothing manufactured after 2009. Clothes should be brand names only, in excellent condition with no missing buttons, stains or tears.

*Donations that do not conform to our standards will be recycled.

REFUSAL OF ITEMS: We reserve the right to refuse any item which we deem unsuitable for sale in our shop.
